Baby don't follow their lead ; Who you are is not up to them ♥

Mmmmm here they come ; just getting up for the let down ; I'm here to say that you're the star you want to be ; One day this'll make you proud ~ Cartel

Yeah, they're kinda amazing. Anyway, I've had an INSANELY hard week, between drama, heartache, pain, and just plain hell. I've learned quite a few things though, I'll always have my friends there by my side to help me get past it, and when that isn't enough? I have my girls ♥ I honestly have to say my friends have been absolutely amazing this past week, so thanks to everyone who was there for me, and helped me smile a little more. I'm 90% sure I wouldn't have made it through this past week without my friends or the dogs, it's just been way to much for me to even process on my own. Sometimes people are a waste of time, so we have to move on and find new people, even if moving on hurts. They say sometimes, you're better off not knowing, and I guess in some situations that's 100% true, but in other cases, not knowing only causes problems and pain. Life's been throwing lots of obstacles at me lately, and it's been really tough to overcome a lot of those obstacles, but I know if I fall or stumble, I have friends ready to help me right back up on to my feet. Speaking of feet I painted my toe nails for the first time since Christmas! I figure since it's warm out and I walk around in either open-toe shoes or without shoes for most of the summer, I should probably make them look kinda decent. Speaking of summer, Texas is kinda unsure which direction it wants to go in,
I'll go to bed and it'll be in the high 60's or low 70's and then wake up and its all like 40 degrees out or somethin, like dude, not chill (actually its very chilly!) but its ok because it stays warm during the day. It's almost time for me to finish my junior year, sad face! I have state testing for like 3 days next week, so annoying! Chloe's focus and drive lately has really made me happy too, since it's almost time for our debut. I've also started to test the waters with teaching Chance to do agility, you see chance is one of he oldest dogs we own, being 6 1/2 almost 7 (he'll be 7 in August!), so if we do compete, which I think we will, I want to keep him at no higher then 18" even though his jump height should be 22". Anyway, Pearl has been really good, kinda spoiled lately. She's always in the house, because she doesn't like the Texas sun (kinda don't blame her). I got my term paper back in English, made an 87 which I guess is ok, but I would've liked those 3 more points to make an A, since I worked so hard on it, but oh well! I've started really looking into college, which I'm kinda scared about, I don't want to graduate high school!!!!!! Hmph, this is kind of upsetting, but it must be done. I kind of really can't wait for summer, I usually hate summer, but this year I'm extremely excited for some reason, maybe it's just because in June I have the debut, and my
17th birthday, not to mention my grandmother is coming for a visit. So much to think about! My head can't seem to process all the information I've been feeding it lately, so yeah it kinda sucks. On a brighter note, I'm breeding Vixy to Jericho, I absolutely LOVE Vixy puppies! <3 So I'm like really, really, really excited for that. I've also been super focused on everything I do, I tend to do that when I'm upset, but tomorrow I'm going to a party, I can't wait to just relax and take my mind off the worries of life for a few hours. Well, I'll update soon! Bye!

Hey look a trial!

That is correct! Chloe's debut is officially set! June 16 & 17 (right before my 17th birthday) Chloe is finally getting to debut. USDAA holds a lot of trials close by, which I was unaware of. So instead of driving the 4-6 hours to a CPE trial we'll be driving 1 1/2 to a USDAA trial, which is also 4 months earlier then I had planned for her to debut (it was supposed to be in October). But either way I think we're ready (or at least she is LOL I'm always a ball of nerves) hopefully we'll rock this debut. We're gonna show the world that dachshunds can be pretty boss at whatever they do (: Sorry for the short post just thought I'd update y'all! Happy Easter!!!

When blue skies fade to grey don't tell me your passion's fading away.....

So, today was an eventful day. Not sure how else to explain it. We've had tornados all day, therefore I was at school for an extra hour today. Sitting in duck & cover I really started to think, if I died right now, would I be proud of my life? I guess in a way I would but at the same time I thought to myself, why do I do agility? What about it makes me keep doing it? I couldn't honestly come up with anything other then it makes me smile, it helps me relax. Agility is my thing, it my sport, I don't have a giant group of team members I can't stand. I have a single teammate, and we work together to do something beautiful. It's a mental thing I guess, more emotional than physical. Working side by side with your dog, you realize something, what if this was your last time to ever see them? Your best friend, your partner, your teammate, your life. What if it was all gone in an instant? Then what? I have every intention of continuing on with agility, and when people say I'll we'll never make it we'll smile and say "Watch us" because even if we're not the best, even if we're not earning titles & ribbons, we're winners, because we have eachother. So I have no intentions of letting this passion fade with the blue skies, my passion is going to soar.

It's only April? Here comes the heat & Spring Cleaning

It's only April and we're already in the high 80's here in Texas, kinda crazy huh? Me & Chloe are only practicing agility real early in the morning so that we can keep cool. Its almost time to set the pools up for the dogs, it's going to be Liberty's first summer, and it looks like its going to be a hot one at that. Thankfully we got some rain so the ponds & creeks aren't dried up, if we're lucky we won't have another dry summer, that definitely wouldn't be good. Pearl is already sticking inside, it's simply just to sunny for her and being almost bald she doesn't like any kind of heat. All 3 long coated girls prefer to be outside though, laying in the shade and grass. Libby's training is coming along really well, she's super smart, I want to eventually get her into agility and possibly flyball, so we'll se how that goes. Pearl stuck around while I cleaned the bedroom today (the bedroom as I don't have my own bedroom, the dogs own more of it then I do) though she prefer to just sit on the bed and watch me. I hope to have a better paying job soon so that I can switch all the girls over to Orijen, instead of Pedigree, I'll be getting my permit some time this week, and hopefully a job within a month, first pay is going to get them their first bag of Orijen. Anyway, hope everyone is enjoying this nice weather!

My universe will never be the same ..... ♥

"I decided you look well on me, well on me" ~ The Wanted

Anyway, how is everyone? I decided today I'm gonna do a blog to introduce y'all to who I am, the mind behind all the training with the doxies.

My name is Meaghan Darling, I'm currently 16 years old and a junior in high school (two more months till I'm a senior, woot woot!) I own 4 minitaure dachshunds (eventually to be 5 (; ), yes I'm kinda stuck on the breed. I'm from Massachusetts, Fall River actually, on May 28th of 2010 I made the 1,762 mile trip to my small town in Texas. I obviously didn't want to make the move, all my family and friends (and my entire life) was in Fall River, who would want to leave that? Little did I know what an amazing change it would be. On the day that I woke up and flew to Texas, Chloe was born, I had no idea what fate had in store for me that day. When I landed in Texas it was well over 100 degrees outside, I was instantly in a mood where I thought I would absolutely hate it. Being from a big city I got into a lot of trouble growing up, "ma'am" and "sir" were insults, as it made people seem old. So hearing people say "yes ma'am", "yes sir", and "y'all" made me feel so far from what I knew to be reality. I stayed with a friend for a few weeks, staying on a farm wasn't my piece of heaven though, but it sure made me get used to it. I quickly learned to give more respect to people (only when they earn it though), deciding I was going to have to make the best of what life handed me. After a 4 1/2 months I got Chloe, my pride and joy, (Vixy & Pearl made the huge move with us) she quickly grew on me, changing my life and who I was even more. My second summer in Texas I went back to Fall River to visit family & friends for two weeks, after the first week I realized it was no longer where I belonged. When I flew back to Texas I realized my childhood was quickly coming to an end and I needed to start taking things more seriously and grow up. When school started back up I fostered a GSD/BC/Kelpie mix for a month before finding her the perfect home, gosh she was a loon! Around the end of September I was reintroduced to my best friend (and now the guy I am utterly in love with) by one of my close friends, we've been together for almost 3 months now, and I couldn't live without him. Earlier this month I brought home Liberty, a small cream longhaired doxie, who is absolutely precious. I have every intention of attending college to further my dog training skills, and then afterwards enlist in the Army, so we'll just have to see where life takes me. All this has made me realize one thing, life is going to throw obstacles at you, so you need to think fast and make the best of whatever life gives you, jump the hurdles, and keep going.

Well Hello Beautiful ♥

On March 13, 2012 I brought home the cutest little bundle of joy. Yes, she's another dachshund, but she's precious so its ok. Her name is Liberty (Libby for short) registered name? SE's Sweet Freedom. She's just simply adorable, and super smart. Though she sleeps and cries a lot, she's kinda spoiled. But I like her, cause well? You just can't deny her! I drove to Oklahoma to pick her up, she was totally worth the drive, I hope to get into agility with her eventually, but basics and foundation first! Hm, well it's absolutely beautiful outside so I'm sitting in a field with all 4 girls typing this for y'all, when I should seriously be doing homework and everything, but who wants to do homework? Yuck. Husky is still planned, I have no intentions of getting any more doxies (unless of course I steal one of my mom's males cause I love him<3) but we'll see! Hopefully I'll have another job within 2-3 months so I can get all of the girls off pedigree and on either Canidae or Orijen (I prefer Orijen though lol) anyway, just wanted to update y'all!

Finally!

Well guys, spring break is finally here!!! It looks like Monday and Tuesday will be our only nice days though, so other than monday and tuesday we'll probably just do tricks. If I can think of some that is. Let's see, haven't updated in forever, so, sorry about that, Chloe has been doing really well with her agility training. I think we'll definitely be ready to debut at the end of this year, she's finally learned to go straight from a jump to the weaves (big breakthrough). I'll aim to put up another vlog as well as some videos of all the girls this week, but no promises, becuase I'm lazy and hate making videos. Chloe will be 2 on May 28th, then I'll be a senior less than a week later. Both Chloe and Vixy should (hopefully) be fixed by then. Then (MAYBE, depending on my situation) I might be adding another doxie to the crew, a male though, no more girl doxies. As many of you know I do plan to get my husky pup on June 21st, 2013 (my 18th birthday) so I'm still not sure about the doxie boy, and if I do get him, he'll be only a trick dog/pet. He will not be an agility dog. I found a dog training college that is 2 hours from me that offers financial aid (super happy) and I hope to be going to visit some time this week. Hopefully I'll get in when I apply next year! Anyway that's all for today guys!!! Best wishes!
